About The Nick Castellanos Foundation
All who knew Nick were devastated of his passing. He had such a full and promising life ahead of him, Through the Nick Castellanos Foundation, we hope to carry on the legacy of Nick by helping the organizations which meant so much to him.
Because the kids and coaches in the Coronado High School Lacrosse Program had such an impact on his life, The Nick Castellanos Foundation will be awarding yearly scholarships to Coronado High School lacrosse seniors who display the characteristics of Nick- sportsmanship, leadership, team spirit, work ethic, self-discipline and integrity. It is our hope that the youth players of today will become outstanding players of tomorrow, empowered to become exceptional citizens in the future.
The Nick Castellanos Foundation will also be providing a yearly contribution to the currently underfunded Silver Stand State Beach Junior Life Guard program. This program had a tremendous impact on Nick's life, building self-esteem, encouraging teamwork and leadership, and teaching aquatic safety. The program is designed to provide quality water safety education while improving young people's physical conditioning, their understanding and respect for the environment, and their respect for themselves, their parents, and their peers. It is our hope that with our yearly contribution, the Silver Strand State Beach Junior Guard program will continue to impact the lives of the Coronado youth.
A yearly contribution will also be designated to the Chico State Men's Lacrosse Club. Though Nick only spent four short months with the team, the impact the team made on his life was immeasurable. He considered his teammates his brothers, and through them he gained confidence, improved his skills and gained a family away from home. The Chico State Men's Lacrosse Club Team is a self-funded, student run organization which could certainly benefit from our yearly contribution. It is our hope that the Chico State Men's Lacrosse Club will be successful in the future and continue to foster strong bonds among its teammates.
Please consider donating to The Nick Castellanos Foundation to keep Nick's memory alive and help the youth in the Coronado community and the student-athletes in the Chico community. We are a 501(c)3) non-profit organization. All contributions are tax deductible.
