Congratulations to James Witthoft who has been selected as the 2020 recipient of the El Gun Scholarship! This purpose of this scholarship is to recognize an outstanding men’s Coronado LAX player who displays the the positive characteristics of former player, Nick Castellanos (sportsmanship, leadership, team spirit, work ethic, self-discipline and integrity), to recognize athletic achievement, to encourage high scholastic achievement and to assist with the costs of higher education.
It was our hopes to announce this selection in person at the team banquet, however Covid-19 threw a wrench in our plans as well as many others. We understand how disappointing it was that the season was cut short, but we see the contribution James and the rest of the 2020 seniors made throughout their high school careers on the men’s LAX team, and we are very proud of you all.
